Week of May 1st:  ANNOUNCEMENTS and such

4/30/2017

Announcements
  1. Project Tune #2 is due May 11th.  So make sure to schedule another tune before then with your group! (Let's brainstorm some possible topics/questions for this tune)
  2. Next Tuesday, May 9th- we will be meeting at some point in the morning at the Powerhouse Science Museum so that you can all walk through the space and plan where you need to set up for our exhibition later this month (May 18th, 4-7 pm). Stay tuned for more a more specific time frame for next Tuesday's walk through!
  3. Exhibition Audience Member Invitation: Please email at least three guests you would like to invite to our all-school exhibition.  These should not just be friends/family but rather a target audience member relevant to  your project. For instance, if you are making a film trailer for exhibition on skiing and mountain biking (Grant Gibson) perhaps you want to invite an outdoor company that you are hoping will sponsor a portion of your film making costs, etc...   I will be asking you about who you invited in this week's meetings!  See below for a sample email.
  4. Kyle to speak about exhibition prep committees!  Sign up to help!
  5. Take the survey Libby emailed to give Animas feedback!

I hope to see you there!
Best regards,
YOUR NAME

Monday, April 24th

4/24/2017

Thought of the Day: “I have come to believe that our innate purpose is nothing more than to be the greatest version of ourselves. It is a process of refinement, improvement, and enhancement. When you are aligned with this process and living your purpose, you have the potential of creating something amazing.”
― Steve Maraboli, Unapologetically You: Reflections on Life and the Human Experience

Starter
  1.  Set goals for this week and complete the weekly reflection on your PAP.  Make them SMART goals!!!
  2. Reflect on who your ideal audience is for senior project exhibition AND any outside exhibition(s) you are doing?  Rewrite the audience portion on your PAP to better represent this thought process.  Realize that there may be two different audiences for your project and exhibition.   For instance, maybe you are making a film about risk and extreme sports and your audience includes extreme sport athletes. However, for exhibition, your audience might actually be film makers and producers, or outdoor industry reps you want to make sure know about your film to help sponsor it or provide feedback and advice to you, etc...

Agenda

1. Set up project tunes for tomorrow (or today):
Remember you need to have complete at least one project tune by this Thursday.  Project Tune reflection #1 is due by April 27th, end of class.  See the senior project page for the link to that document.

2. Schedule week 4 check-in conference with Ashley for either Thursday or Friday

3. Accomplish goals

Week of April 17th Schedule/Agendas

4/17/2017

Briefly on goals and planning...

·         S – Specific (or Significant).
·         M – Measurable (or Meaningful).
·         A – Attainable (or Action-Oriented).
·         R – Relevant (or Rewarding).
·         T – Time-bound (or Trackable).

Consider – What will you need and when, where do you work best, who do you need to contact, which days are you most productive/have the most time?  Who can you reach out to for inspiration, guidance, and clarity?  How much do you need to complete this week in order to have an outstanding senior project?
