Bill Writing, Day 3

Objectives:  By the end of class today, you should…

1. Have a clear topic chosen for your legislation (write it on the board!).
2. Have a list of questions written for the experts coming in for your committee.  These could be general questions about the topic, questions about what their party/industry would support, or questions about your specific legislation you’d like them to address.
3. Have the preamble outlined.  This means that you know what needs to go in it, and that you have a running list of facts, statistics, and evidence that you want to use.
4. Have a list of things you want to include in your bill.
5. Have bill sections divided between partners.
6. Have started writing your section of the bill.  You have two more full days to write on Monday and Tuesday before your rough draft is due on Wednesday!

Remember to use the BILL TEMPLATE on my and Lori's DP once you start actually writing your bill!

HOMEWORK:
Research for your bill, finish at least one section of your bill.
