Happy New Decade and Welcome Back!

1/6/2020

Turn and chat-- share out some highlights from the holiday break and one thing you are looking forward to about this semester!

Action Project Test Week OBJECTIVES
  1. Avoid the following common project pitfalls:
  • Poor planning
  • Lack of inspiration
  • Laziness
  • Procrastination
  1.  Inspire great ideas
  2. Help you know what all you need to research for your senior thesis
  3. Know more realistically what your action project idea will entail (time-wise and work-wise) and how to set yourself up for success for action project work time.
  4. Connect with a mentor/expert in the community who has expertise on your topic to inspire you to do RAD work.

Starter
Review the feedback you received during POLs and the next steps you and the panel came up with.  To find this feedback, you can hop onto your TPS report and see the comments from either Kyle, Kurt or Ande OR you can find your name on this document and see the comments/notes Ashley or Sara took during POLs.
  1. What was the most interesting or helpful piece of feedback you received during POLs and what were your “next steps”?
  2. Set your OWN goals: How do you need to use this week’s work time to achieve the overarching goals of Action Project Test week?
  3. How confident and/or excited are you about your project idea?
  4. Do you have a CCwC in mind or have you already tried to contact someone? If so, who?
  5. What is the one thing you MOST need help with from your peers and/or senior teachers?

Small Group Check-in/Share-out
In groups of 5-6, take turns sharing out your starter responses and providing suggestions to each other to help with what each person identified for question #5 of the starter.

CCwC Overview and Work Time
